Yeah, that.

Happy New January. Hurrah. Et cetera, et cetera.

Marvellous not-a-party at [livejournal.com profile] nannyo's last night; saw [livejournal.com profile] nurse_liz, [livejournal.com profile] kowt, [livejournal.com profile] dr_wez, [livejournal.com profile] robinbloke, [livejournal.com profile] the_mendicant, [livejournal.com profile] geekpsi and Stubedoobeedoo as well. Managed to get through an entire bottle of Choya sake (with help, admittedly) and not have a hangover.

Quote of the evening was from [livejournal.com profile] dr_wez: "I'll just lie here with my computer while the other lads pound my ass". Today, he managed to make ninja-style katana fighting on the Wii look more like beating off a swarm of bees. (*looks at that sentence & decides not to edit it*)

Anyone still of the impression that knitting circles are quiet, ladylike places for genteel folk should have heard [livejournal.com profile] nannyo and me today. The air was bluer than me after a hairdye accident. Our tentative plans for a Knitting And Porn weekend sha'n't require any lowering of the tone, at all.

But! I have the beginnings of ideas for what to knit with my Colinette Graffiti! I want puffy Victoriana-style sleeves, a nipped in waist (to make it look as if I have one), and lapels. Look, it's a start, ok?

Since I generally forget, or fail due to outside influences, I've decided I can't be bothered with the official New Year's Resolutions things:

Suggest something for me to do, to try, to stop or to start. I can't promise to do them all, but I'll have a damned good stab at the realistic ones :)

Anon posting would be fun too, if you're self conscious ;)

I have the sort of sore throat I usually only get after enthusiastically snogging someone new, and I'm 99% sure I haven't done any such thing for a long time. My camera and Trusted Friends back this up, too. *pouts*

[livejournal.com profile] nannyo hosted the New Year's Eve Notaparty, and it was (as always) fab. I did get erpeatedly distracted by the marble machine, almost fell asleep around 8.30, and ended up drinking more tea than wine, but I was one of the token Grown Ups (along with [livejournal.com profile] the_mendicant and [livejournal.com profile] whotheheckami) so I think it's allowed :)

For some reason, I have photos of almost everyone's tummies (mine & Mendi's excepted). [livejournal.com profile] dr_wez is remarkably good at girly chats, [livejournal.com profile] minspi is the purriest kitten I know (:p) and [livejournal.com profile] nurse_liz remains Our Glorious Leader (and she's a nurse, and she told me that alcohol's good for me, so It Must Be True).

Colinette haven't delivered my knitting patterns yet. How dare they have holiday in the holiday season? There's knitting to be done!

The weekend's award for I Want One Of Those goes to (jointly):
- the V8 Vantage that engine braked next to me at a roundabout and made me turn off Paul Simon despite the impending bass solo, just to hear the amazing, incredible, orgasmically beautiful noise it was making. The Bentley Continental in the city centre is practically silent; DB9s purr almost as nicely as [livejournal.com profile] minspi, but this was something else.

- the TVR Vixen parked in my street when I got home. Not a straight line in it, and the only car I've ever seen that looked good in yellow with tan leather interior.
