Oh dear...

On checking Wikipedia, I'm rather surprised he didn't go to Oxford.

Alimentum's location is hardly perfect for a fine dining restaurant (as opposed to Midsummer House, for example), I give him that.

As for the food, I haven't been in half a year or so so tomorrow will tell but last time (and that was already with the ex Midsummer House head chef), the food was fine, and the pudding was good, too.
I don't think any pudding I've had can beat Alimentum's deconstructed Tiramisu which was both a work of art and tasted great, too.

If they're doing a tasting menu now, I'd be all over that. I usually can't decide what to choose.

ETA: He's clearly geographically biased. He gave The Kitchin five stars while I found the two very similar in approach to cooking, presentation and portion sizes. My visit to the Kitchin

Well at least his writing made me laugh with its superfluity of richness. A bit like having cream icecream and yoghurt blended with golden syrup and served with every course.

I hate his smug smug self-important twatish person. Possibly this is a slight overreaction, but he just seems to think it's hilarious to be mean all the time, and it isn't clever to be a bastard.
So there! NER! I am of course entirely rational about this.

and except the bit about the restaurant being on a busy road next to an urban planning nightmare, none of it bore any resemblance to the truth. It was sublime. We even had the same dishes he had.
