(Killing time while waiting for client to call back)

WHY is knitting wool so expensive? Not only the posh crafty stuff like Colinette; even mostly-acrylic chunky wool is about £3 a ball, and you need at least 10 balls to make a jumper. For *actual* wool, not the stuff Proper Knitters call "yarn", you're looking at £5 a ball, or £8 for merino or lambswool. Since I get itchy from Actual Wool other than merino, cashmere & Colinette, I'm going to be very poor, very quickly :(

Poo.

I know! having wanted to expand my repertoire beyond scarves, I was looking at patterns last night - but even a simple tank top requires more balls of wool than I can reasonably afford (cos I likethe nice stuff).

Having said that, I used the sable (or cinnamon) ball you gave me to make a hat last night. It only took me about an hour and is delightful. I am ridiculously proud of myself.

Though I only cast on 25 stitches, as was using the lovely thick colinette stuff and 15mm needles.

It's easy peasy and takes NO TIME AT ALL.
