According to Mum's consultant, her lump is male ("He's a big one, isn't he?" was the quote).

She's having an ultrasound scan tomorrow, and then CT to make sure there aren't any secondary lumps. Then, she'll be getting chemo at home every three weeks. And feeling crappy for anything from 2 days after each dose to all the time, depending on how she reacts.

Apparently, Professor Davidson has a 90% success rate with this method.

Hopefully they've caught the whole thing in plenty of time. If so, Breast Cancer recovery rates are very good.

positive thinking is the key to winning the battle - for her and all who care about her.

Don't know if you got my text message, but I need your postal address so I can send you the Whitby photo CD. care to email me? meloncake@aol.com

at home is generally better because the patients relax a lot more

Male is probably a good description. After all, what else wants to hang onto a womans breast giving nothing but grief in return.

I really hope everything works out and you can keep your spirits up.

I was going to make the male tumor comment, but [livejournal.com profile] phil_girl got there first. 90% sounds pretty good, and according to my Grandmother chemo at home is far better than in a hospital. All the best.
With all this going on, d'you still want to meet up on the 18th/19th, if I can get there?

I think at home is good, even though the lots of chemo is no fun. 90% is really what you want to be hearing (well, no, 100% and done is what you want to be hearing) that's good news though. All my best and lots of love to your mum.
