It's excitement central here.

9 March - One of the security cameras on the office building. Big glowy red eyes :)

10 March - The Pink is Taking Over. The multicoloured hanks are "Jitterbug" by Colinette, in Mardi Gras and Jay. No, I don't know why Jay is dark turquoise, when they're the pinkest birds in the country. The grey ball is also sock yarn, and is more bluey than it looks here. The pink was only 50p a ball because it had lost its label, and is the Louisa Harding "Kimono Angora" (which makes up for the colour). Now I need a pattern that needs only 2 balls of the stuff.

11 March - Beaded gloves finished! I got the order of the beads wrong on the second one (or possibly the first...) because it was knitted from the other side. I thought I'd need to reverse the "2 black; 1 red" pattern; apparently not.

[livejournal.com profile] springkink has done Bad Things to my brain. Out of the 8 prompts I picked (target wordcount is only 500, so that seemed realistic in January), 1 is now 1500 words and will not finish, 4 are in progress but not in the slightest bit kinky, 2 are refusing to play and one is threatening to become a dissertation. Somehow, I doubt posting a picture of my potential new car (on the grounds that it's the same colour as at least two of the characters' hair) will count.

I knew I was thinking of the right bird then you went and confused me with the pink comment. Jay's have lovely blue bits, yes they do. Look!

I want to nest in the Jay yarn, for it looks beautiful.

And the glubs look lovely. I mean, they look gothy and cobwebby :)

BITS. Not all over.

There's a pair who live in the trees opposite the Parent People's house. When they come & play in their cherry tree, they're still obviously pink, even next to the cherry blossom.

They're also the only birds that distracted me while I was shooting. I couldn't get used to seeing something that looked like a flying fondant fancy ignoring a hail of arrows.
