Car is having its MOT today. More exactly, Car was dropped off at 8am and I had a call at 8.45 to say it *had had* its MOT. And failed due to a knackered handbrake. I knew it was dodgy, but not failing-bad.

Labour estimated at £70, plus parts & VAT. Still; its cheaper than I am (unless it'll take <20 minutes), and I couldn't do it myself. Still Poo for unwanted bills 10 days before I get paid :(

I park on an incline, so it's probably a Good Plan to have it fixed before it goes crashing through some scratchy bushes to the street below :)

I once saw a brand new BMW (this was about 12 years ago) parked on an incline in a car park. This was a pretty seriously banked car park, as it must have been at least 25 or 30 degrees off the horizontal if not more. Ploughed firmly - embedded even - into the back of the nice shiney new BMW was a rather battered (especially at the frontal point of impact) old Lada which had clearly had it's handbrake fail and rolled down the hill a good 5 or 6 car lengths before meeting the Beemer...
