Argh!

I'm Blue!

I usually use a Schwarzkopf hairdye, cos the blue overtones are obvious enough to keep me happy without annoying work. Everywhere I looked had sold out today.

L'Oreal's has dyed me blue.

The instructions told me to wet my hair first. I did, and towelled off most of the water. The dye is *still* running down me in rivulets. My hands are blue up to my wrists, and then around 50% covered to my shoulders, at which point they go 100% blue again. I have a splash on my tummy.

It's a good thing I'm not still ginger; I'd look as if I'd spent a day at the Sweeney Todd Spa & Health Centre.

Ohnoes! I stopped going blue some time ago because my scalp was always luminous compared to my hair. Blue hands, though....

My scalp stays blue for a couple of days, then goes back to normal. The blue lasts on my hair for a week or two, then I have another few weeks before my roots get so long I look as if I'm going thin...

Blue hands, blue ears, blue neck & blue shoulders, now I've had a shower :(

I have a special hair-drying-off towel which has a loud pattern in dark colours on it. Because every time I dye my hair, it leaks bright orange for *weeks* whenever it gets wet :)

*Nods* My hair dying towel is ancient, blue already, has several holes, and is great for wrapping around my shoulders to catch the odd drip when things go to plan. Which they *usually* do. I only really get leaks for a week or so after dying it, so just need to stick to one of my dark coloured towles for then.

Oh dear! Yes, the L'Oreal ones are very runny. They come off skin very easily with shampoo and pumice though.

I had high hopes, with the nice latex gloves and vial of scented oil... Ho hum, I'll know for next time :(

And it's not even as blue as my usual colour, either :(

I am amused. Thanks.

Still, not being ginger is a good thing - I speak as a life long ginger, you can trust (originally typed as tryst - make of that what you will) me on this one.

Now it's time for bed, in readiness for the new job, with a daily commute less than a third of the distance of the last one. Maybe I can stop falling asleep on the motorway now.

I spent around 18 months bright ginger, and soon I hope to find the software to make my scanner work again & share the photos :)

You strange, strange person. Although, this was already known. What ever possessed you to do such a thing?

Ginger = badness

This is a universal truth

Dear PC,

Thank you for discouraging me from getting a packet of this (http://haircrazy.biz/product_info.php?products_id=40&osCsid=7b946d8e48ebf7b9fb81c2feb8514323). Because green highlights? YES! Green everything else? Umm... No, I don't want those.

*snugs*

Don't let me put you off! Cos usually it's fine - I've had enough practise I dont even put a towel down to cover the floor any more. Just don't underestimate the splashiness, and read "wet hair" as "ever so mildly damp hair"...

Your hands may be blue for some time, I'm afraid! Normally, I use baby oil to rub the colour off, baby oil, then soap and water, then baby oil again, etc. But if it has had time to soak in, you may just be a smurf. A very glamorous smurf though!

You haven't seen my blue in person yet, have you? MWhahahahhaaa

Not in person, no... Thouggh I'm off to see Bettie Page next weekend with SB, if you fancy a cinema trip (and assuming I'm not imposing on her)?

A long shower with scrubby bath gloves has faded *most* of it. I'm glad I have a fringe & nail varnish, though...

I think you should go with it Pudding and dye your whole body blue!

Then you could be either a Smurf or that lassie in the X-Men who wears no clothes and can change shape, depending on your taste. :)

Hmmm - so I get to be either the only girl in a whole village (but a Smurf), or kickass and hot (but never go shoe shopping again). Decisions, decisions... ;)

Well, are shoes really that important to you?

Shoes are one of the few areas where I'm definitely a girl :)

And aren't you already kickass and hot? ;)

Thanks, but not *quite* enough to walk around wearing only body paint & spiky bits. Which doesn't really matter, seeing as I live in Manchester.

Yeah, it would get a bit chilly, right enough.
