Today was the first day in 10 days that I've got up before 9am. The first day in a week I've got up before 10.30am, in fact.

It's the first day I've worn contact lenses in that time; the first day I've worn makeup, the first day I've worn a skirt, and the first day I've worn heels. Last night was the first time I shaved my legs in a fortnight.

It's also the first time I've had a Starbucks in a week, but that doesn't make up for being back at work and not in bed with one cat curled round my head and the other on my tummy.

I want to be back at home, writing crap for [livejournal.com profile] wk_100 and thinking I really *must* get something done before my break's over.

[livejournal.com profile] princesspy is a Bad Influence. After the picture she posted of her sparkly black ballet slippers, I Went Shopping.

Unfortunately, Accessorise had sold out of size 5s. More unfortunately, I found the Monsoon sale rails. For £73 I got a skirt, a pair of linen trousers, a long-sleeved t-shirt and a victoriana blouse. All in black, and all either 50% or 70% off :)

Then, of course, I had to check Barratts for the blue furry leopard print shoes that [livejournal.com profile] pink_weasel had mentioned. They were nowhere to be seen, but a lovely pair of red satin ballet pumps were - for £5. Ooops.

To top it all, my "ok, let's go to Tesco's to stock up on cheap beans & baked potatoes, cos that's all I can afford now" trip revealed some lovely sparkly black ballet slippers.

Arse.

*sigh*

I sympathise with the return to work.

I got the red satin ballet shoes too about 3 weeks ago! The ones with the fake toe blocks? I am slightly miffed now though because the price was £12 in the sale, but the only charged me £10. Now you're telling me they're down to a fiver!

I'm going to wear mine on Saturday with the boobie flashing chiffon dress. It's about time I looked like a girl.

Yes, that's the ones! I'm sure they'll only last me one wearing, cos I'm not the most delicate of people, but red! And satin! It's the first time I've *ever* worn anything with blocks, and the first time I've worn anything ballet-like since my aborted attempts at dancing lessons when I was little! Whee!

They were hairy, not furry, which made them all the more covetable with their weird beauty. But £28. Sob.

Hairy implies thhat the hairiness was either only in places, or that it was long enough to need styling. Hmm - shoes with stylable hair - like My Little Pony - the next generation of novelty slippers?

But Stockport didn't have them, regardless.

Well, it was more like fake ponyskin than anything else so perhaps!

I bet such horrible hairy slippers exist. The world of MLP is a worrying place.

It could be one of your Grand Creative Projects. Knit slippers, then attach long, flowing hair to them to be styled as the wearer wishes.

Yes! Yes! I'll be rich!

Not sure...

I know someone who has furry cowskin type shoes. It's difficult to resist stroking them.

But yay for shoes!!! And Monsoon bargains. I was with Indo when she got her red satin pumps - we were agonising over them or sparkly red ballet pumps :)

I so nearly got the red ones in Tesco's, but thought that 2 pairs of red shoes inone day would be too much...
