I can forsee this being taken to it's horrible, geeky conclusion, with the realisation that noisy fans will keep the cats unhappy, and therefore the only solution is to spend a small fortune on PC parts, and fit a silent water pump with freon in it, to create a cooler surface...

Hee hee great idea, I know one of my cats would adore that. He sits in the bath on hot days and my other cat will sit in front of my big 1950s style fan for hours - despite the noise.
