No, really. Really. Stop laughing at the back :p

I slipped on the stairs. I have good cat-trained reactions, so I grabbed the bannister as I fell. Instead of going bump, bump, bump down to the bottom like Pooh, I went CRASH, once.

That was 10 days ago, and it still hurts to sit down, lie on my back or put any sort of pressure at all on my coccyx.

It's not the sort of bone you can put into plaster, either.

Arse.

Literally.

*careful hug*

Bless you, m'dear. Shouldn't you get it checked out anyway, despite the lack of plasterability?

Eeep.
That's a really nasty bit to bang.
Hurting this long is bad though, get it checked out - bad things can happen if you mess it up!

At least you haven't lost your sense of humour.

Take care of your bum, it's far too nice to be put in a cast...

Ouch!

You might have jarred your spine (caused bruising as there was literally a knock-on effect up your vertebrae, as I understand it) - I did it several times as a kid doing much the same thing (falling down stairs, rolling down grass slopes and dioscovering concrete at the bottom...that sort of thing) - went away in the end by itself, but was bloody uncomfortable in the meantime...

I did much the same about 6 months ago, with an extra bounce on two as I was carrying stuff in both hands and couldn't caths a banister.

I had a bruise about a handspan and a half's width across my bum for about 3 / 4 weeks and it hurt. (I'd also twisted my knee so was walking oddly that put extra pressure on my hips too)

If you've not got obvious huge bruises go get it checked out as tou might have done something a bit more serious.

hope you feel better soon.
Terri

Sympathy,

I bruised my coccyx in a dry slope skiing accidentwhen I was 14, I slipped and ended up with a ski between my legs with the edge facing up. Seeing as I'm a bloke, I'm glad my coccyx took the hit. That was really sore for a couple of weeks, thanks for bringing up that painful memory.
But seriously, it its that sore after 10 days go see a doctor.

Thats really not good, much sympathies...my mother had a nasty fall as a young one, so i've an idea of how delicate the spine can be. Take care you...

I actually broke my tailbone as a kid. Had to sit on one of those stupid donut pillows for almost 4 weeks. Had to get the exam as well. Both really embarrassing when you are 13.

Beyond the tailbone, how have you been? Sean and I are buying a house!!
