Yes, it was only a "Best of". Yes, there were two "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car" segments.

But it was still Top Gear, and they still showed the race to Oslo that prompted me to text [livejournal.com profile] nannyo with the phrase "Theirloveexplodesboats" - which, I think, is the first time I've ever come up with a phrase that's been adopted by a fandom :)

I'd forgotten the "Norwegian Wood" comment, too.

And all that on the same day as seeing James Martin (a "ballroom dancing Romeo who sometimes cooks a bit", apparently) spoon feed James May with Thai crab risotto.

gratuitous quoting.

Gratuitous quoting? That's gratuitous iconnage, missus!

*still flailing gently when I think of it*

Can't you just tell he's thinking about recreating 9 1/2 weeks. In a dinghy.

Ok; now I'm alternating between *flail*ing and thinking "but wouldn't the food perish the rubber?"

Make it a speedboat & I'll stop worrying :)

2x James
1x spoon
1x crab
1x camera

Mix. Serve.

I have the spoon and the camera.

Will a citrus reamer do instead of a crab?

I'm running low on multiple Jameseseseseseseses. *sigh*

Look they have crabs, fer gawd's sake!

What's wrong with my reamer?

1x moving floor, too, to simulate waves. James (Martin) has to chase James (May)'s mouth around before he found it.

I should possibly rephrase that, but can't.

Yes. James (May) had to sway his hips in a sort of Elvis way to make the floor vibrate sway.

If he was singing the 'secret lemonade drinker' song - I've died and gone to heaven.

Two blokes on a swinging floor, doing Elvis impressions and singing about R. White's Lemonade.

...

Probably not 100% correct but, y'know, close enough to be beautifully bizarre. X-D

Yes! James (Martin) has the big soulful eyes (hey, he's like a taller, less irritating Hamster!) and James (May) has the floppy scruffy hair & rather louche look!

Wow.

James (May) was pretty good at stirring, but couldn't get his wrist loose enough to do the thing with the spun sugar particularly well.

It started with arborio rice and stock, included a few handfuls of fresh crab, some kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, green chillis, and fresh parmesan. Other stuff to, I'm sure, but James (Martin) doesn't exactly do things slowly.
