Today: No protestors, but gridlock down to the University. An hour & a half to get in (usually takes about 50 minutes). Not helped by the fact that Stagecoach seem to think that *fewer* buses are needed during term time than in the holidays.

Exhausted. Not sleeping much; when I am, hugely vivid dreams. It's just like before I got my sleeping tablets, so I've tried taking a whole one each night instead of a half. It helps a bit, but makes it impossible to get up in the morning without still being so tired I hurt all over. Although, after a week of sleeping badly, I'm so tired I hurt all over anyway.

Work friend is a member of the gym at the Radisson, where a number of the Liar Party high-ups are staying. The gym's been closed for the week. She wishes (admittedly, only after I suggested it) she'd peed in the pool beforehand. She also hopes they change the water afterwards.

I need someone to look after me. I can't do this grown-up job & house & life thing on my own.

For some reason, I'm shattered today. My eyes will hardly stay open, my head's full of cotton wool and if I laid down I'd be asleep within 5 minutes. That's after a pint of Starbucks and a blueberry muffin, too.

A brief canter thrugh the past couple of days:

Monday I discovered that Cheshire Oaks takes about the same time to get to as does the city centre, that [livejournal.com profile] munchkinott is just as good (bad?) at puns in RL as she is online (and has Good Hair, which I covet, for mine is being hypersensitive atm) and that neither of the toy shops stock much (if any) Technical Lego. Poo. I forgot to go back for the pack of Bottom Trumps cards, too...

Yesterday I went out to see a client :) Not bad, didn't have The Fear (a Good Thing), saw a Cayman on the way (absolutely stunning, like a crouched panther, complete with haunches) and had one of the rare "oh yes - there *are* some good things about Manchester" moments walking to the office froom the G-Mex car park. It's great when a DB9 stops early to let you across the road, and the 575M in front inches forward a bit to give you & your heavy bags more space to cross :) The only problem was remembering to cross and not stand in the middle of the road, gawping. Well, that and fighting the urge to lick them ;)

My car is definitely still up for sale; *reasonable* offers welcome. Urgency has reduced, since Py's Alfa has had a reprieve, but that just means I'm looking out for one with a hard top instead. To put this into perspectinve, the only achievable car I've wanted since I first saw one, that still makes my toes curl and for which I'll tolerate extortionate repair bills, is the TVR Griffith. An Alfa Spider with a hard top is a pretty close second.

Now to pretend to work and try not to snore :)

The problem with getting up early for a 9am meeting1 at work is that my body won't let me forget that I've lost out on an hour of morning sleep2.

It'll be reminding me all day and surreptitiously trying to make me catch up at the most inconvenient moments. If you hear of me being disciplined for falling asleep under my desk, or on the photocopier., you'll know why.

===

1 - I usually work 10-6.30 or thereabouts.
2 - Doesn't matter what time I get to sleep at night; Ii need to be asleep between midnight and 8am to feel even semi-human the next day. Hence "morning sleep".

Seeing the local DB9 never gets old :)

For those who were there at the wekeend, and anyone else with 10 minutes to spare, I give you this and their "What dog are you?" quiz. I might have a weird hairy undercarriage, but at least I don't require an occasional sponge...
