The problem with getting up early for a 9am meeting1 at work is that my body won't let me forget that I've lost out on an hour of morning sleep2.

It'll be reminding me all day and surreptitiously trying to make me catch up at the most inconvenient moments. If you hear of me being disciplined for falling asleep under my desk, or on the photocopier., you'll know why.

1 - I usually work 10-6.30 or thereabouts.
2 - Doesn't matter what time I get to sleep at night; Ii need to be asleep between midnight and 8am to feel even semi-human the next day. Hence "morning sleep".

I very much know the feeling.

Poor [livejournal.com profile] sogoth had to be at work for 8:30 today for a "breakfast meeting", and I'm not coping too well with losing an hour's sleep either. Ugh.

OK, quick piece of advice: try and avoid falling asleep on the photocopier. Anywhere that provides photographic or hardcopy evidence of you sleeping is definitely bad. Under your desk is better, unless there's a webcam set up there.

If there is a webcam set up under your desk, then unless you set it up yourself (and, let's be honest, who hasn't done that at least once), I'd question your boss' intentions...

for one horrible moment there, as I sat comfortably with 20 minutes to go before a uni presentation I thought that you meant the clocks had changed...
