Just in case it needs saying:

Please don't crosspost any of your comments here to Facebook or Twitter. I shan't be doing so either.

I get enough multiply-crossposted spam to make me filter some people out. I dislike Facebook's idea of privacy. I think it's rude to post / tag / link without asking and only stop on request. I keep LJ for stuff I don't necessarily want known by people I know elsewhere.

100% agreed.

The whole thing really annoys me.

Hear hear. That's why I wont use any of the other "social networking forums". There are things I dont want to get out to certain people that I dont mind my friends on here knowing.
All this cross posting stuff implies that we all want absolutely everyone to know everything about us. Duh, no.

Eh? What did I miss? How does that work? Just for curiosity's sake, mind you. Not that I'd do anything like that (not knowingly, anyway). Oh, also I don't have a facebook OR twitter :p. I mean, I see the buttons below, but what exactly can you repost? Just your own comment or the whole thread/post/replies?

Overused response it is, but WORD!

I don't know why LJ are bothering. Twitter has a character limit and LJ posts'll look FABULOUS as 'status updates' on Facebook.

You mean, don't crosspost comments made on your journal to twitter or facebook?

It is getting stupidly hard to keep one's private life and public life separate online, which is annoying. As are duplicated tweets, status messages and so on being repeated over and over on every media.

Hey! I shan't crosspost, of course, and I know you won't either. Still, I'm moving over to Dreamwidth, as are a bunch of people we know, and I was wondering if you wanted codes? In case? *puppy eyes*

ETA: Journal deletion's going to happen soon. You can find me under the same name there, you have openID access. ♥ I'd really rather not lose touch over this.
