Am I right to be suspicious of this offer?

You have to buy the extended warranty to get it. I bet there are all sorts of bits of small print...

*nods* Extended warranties can be quite expensive. It it costs, say, 150 quid a year, that's a new laptop after three years.

The maths certainly doesn't make sense. Assuming you live for another 60 years, they're giving you 6000 odd pounds to spend on a laptop by that time, so you're looking at a total spend on their behalf in the tens of thousands per customer range. I am not a stunt actuary, but I can't see how they can afford it, even if they do rely on people not jumping through arduous hoops. (I like many people, would jump through arduous hoops for a free laptop every three years.)

Also, "like for like specifications". In three years, the specs of your new laptop won't look as good, and I'm sure they'll be trying to sell you overpriced upgrades.
