A couple of things

Why didn't I realise that Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd was the Sondheim version? I'd have been far more excited had I known.

I loved it. I love Burton's aesthetic, I love the hammy acting, I love Johnny Depp & Helena Bonham Carter in unfeasible costumes and silly characters, I loved the red-as-my-car blood. I disagree with many of the critics; I think Depp can sing. The narration-style talking-singing doesn't flatter anyone's voice, but when he got the chance he was very much in tune.

Mum pointed me at a blog I liked so much I've syndicated it, as pc_bloggs. I think snapesbabe will enjoy linking to it in her Political Rants ;) It's written by a policewoman and she gets irritated by many of the same things I do, and yet (take note all you Opinion Writers) she never tells you what you should think :)

Arrrg, I still can't decide if I want to go and see Sweeney Todd or not.

I think I'm going to have to leave it in Els' hands, and she seems about as keen as I am. So if I ever see it, it's likely to be on DVD...
