Excolo - AL-SHAIRAN
The enemy of God, also named Iblis, He Who Despaired of the Mercy of God. Al-Shairan is the leader of the Jinn, a tempter who whispers false suggestions to men enticing them into evil and perfidious acts, and is the sworn enemy of all of Adam’s children. His scent is fiery, bright and thick with sweet sinfulness: clove, peach and orange with cinnamon, patchouli and dark incense notes.
Marker pens! Patchouli and incense come through as well, but oooh, solvents :) I seem to like the scents they describe as "masculine" so far; worth bearing in mind for future purchases. Yup; still marker pens after an hour or two. I'll use it up & like it, but not get more, I think.
Wanderlust - KYOTO
A gentle, soothing blend of cherry blossom, white sandalwood and star anise.
Kirsch liqueur chocolates. Mmmmm. No, really. While it's drying, however much BPAL claims their oils are 100% - well, oil – there's that alcoholic warmth evaporating off and promising the best sort of sticky booze. "Gentle" and "soothing" in the way that half a bottle of really expensive cherry brandy is. Drinking a mug of coffee using the hand I've tested on is bizarre; the scent confuses the tongue and it all goes peculiar. A couple of hours later, it's faded quite a bit but hasn’t changed character *at all*. Very nice.
A Picnic In Arkham - MISKATONIC UNIVERSITY
A venerable New England university, whose vast library holds many rare, diabolical and obscure arcane works, including one of the few surviving legitimate copies of the Necronomicon. Home to innumerable scholars of the esoteric and the occult, and the notorious Dr. Herbert West.
The scent of Irish coffee, dusty tomes and polished oakwood halls.
More like Dooleys than Baileys (or other Irish Cream varieties). Sweet and toffeeish; *proper* praline, when it’s coarse-ground almonds covered in molten sugar and crushed. The caramel deepens over a few hours (as in cooking the sugar longer) but I'm still not getting any polish, wood, tome or, indeed, coffee. I'll swap this for Laudanum, or keep & use this & any others that turn up in job lots.
