I was developing a small amount of faith in the Great British Public, so far as reality TV shows went.

Then the MORONS went and made Anthony cry.

How anyone can vote for the MacDonald (snore) Brothers or Ray the One Trick Pony instead of Eton Road and the vision of eyelinered 17 year old prettiness that is Anthony is beyond me. The final 3 should have been Leona, Ben & Eton Road.

Tone deaf, tasteless, wastes of oxygen.

(Though Ben did possibly the best cover of Live & Let Die I've ever heard. Wings' was ok; Guns 'n' Roses was fun, but Ben's was for a Bond who really is more than happy to beat someone to a pulp with his bare fists. And he plays piano like a god. I'm expecting Leona to win, but I'd go to see Ben live.)

Ooh, I got your letter, and did as instructed :) A visit for perl instruction would be shiney, though I am not sure when you and me are both free for such a thing to take place, hence thinking posting to you in advance might better so you can have your mitts on lovely need wool now rather than in possibly many weeks time :) Either way, a visit, possibly combined with tasty food (TM) would be very good indeed!

X Factor :) Eton Road are a four-manboy band from Liverpool; three of them are good singers , but Anthony is utterly beautiful as well and has a floppy (black) fringe and eyeliner and sings like an angel and is the prettiest thing I've seen on tv for years.

Ben is late 20s, has floppy wavy long hair & sounds like Joe Cocker. Oh; and plays piano & guitar as well.

Leona's got a lovely voice, but is Just Another Pop Star.

The others aren't worth mentioning.

100% with you. Why won't the MacDonalds just go crawl into a dark, damp, dank hole and never ever return? Why must they stay and The Anthony must go? Cruel world. Actually, I'm going to blame Louis for saying he was going to manage them and get them a deal - why vote for an act that has representation and is likely to get a deal?

Ben was always my favourite - I blogged about him straight after his audition, but he bores me now. Conversely, I didn't like Leona, but to be fair she is the most vocally talented in the competition.

Yup. I think Leona will win because of her voice & she's a pop singer. Ben is fantastic and more my sort of thing, but will appeal more to middle aged Dire Straits fans than to X Factor voters.

I'll have to keep my eyes on the Apollo; Journey South played there a couple of months ago, despite only coming third last year :)

I agree - the bottom two should have been The McDonald Bros and Ray as I have no idea what those three are still doing in the competition as they're pants!

I do blame Louis Walsh though as his selections for Eaton Road and the arrangements have been rubbish over the past few weeks.

I was so angry when I watched the repeat yesterday. Anthony is beautiful (I know his dad!). I think Leona is a whitney/christina/mariah impersonator and annoys the hell out of me. Ben is ok but I wish he'd stop going for the big choruses. I want to stab Ray in the eye, I just keep thinking Brookside everytime I see him 'I meeeeeeeeeeeeeerded 'er'. He should be in musicals, he's a stage school kid.
