Now I have All The Sugar In The World buzzing round my bloodstream (apart from that in robinbloke's stash, obviously), and a metric buttload of caffeine to boot, I'm slightly more human & less despondent.

And I've just booked tickets to see IRON MAIDEN, BABY in Sheffield in December, with snapesbabe and strangefrontier.

I've been a Maiden fan for more than half my life; I bought Seventh Son in 1988, when I was 14. I saw them at the Hammersmith Odeon (when it still was the Hammy O) on the 1990 No Prayer... tour of small venues, at Donington (when it was still Monsters of Rock) in 1992, and Donington again (as Download) in 2003. Not to mention Seeing Bruce Dickinson on his solo Tattooed Millionaire tour in 1990 at the London Astoria :)

I still want to be Bruce when I grow up :)

So jealous. The first CD I ever bought was Seventh Son, and I've not ever gotten to see Maiden live. Priest? Sabbath? Ozzy? KISS? Seen all of them. The fates have always conspired to keep me from seeing Maiden.

My first contact with Maiden was when my best mate played Powerslave to me (he's how I got into the heavier side of rock). It was too heavy for me then but I loved Seventh Son which I bought (still on vinyl). Have never seen them live, though.

That *is* the point of Iron Maiden. It's all bombastic and psychics and life after death but in a scary way and nightmares and LYCRA! (or at least it was in the 80s).
