Except I'd expand the definition to cover all "explaining the bloody obvious", aka "teaching a Michelin chef how to boil an egg". Not necessarily a problem *if you don't know the mansplainee's level of knowledge*, but once you do? Stop.
I don't think it needs to come with the creepiness mentioned in the third link; overt sexism isn't always part of manslaining. It just needs that level of self-centredness to talk over the 'splainee and to consider it more important to show off your knowledge than to listen to her.
(Yes, some women mansplain to men. However, it's like scratching your genitals in public - the vast majority of culprits are male.)
