It seems to be me. However, for some unexplained¹ reason, I ended up in Hyde Park watching REM² this weekend, when there were perfectly good Rammstein and Meatloaf concerts on elsewhere.

If I hadn't been comfortably beered³, I'd have realised that getting Separated From The Herd would have been a good thing. Well, the agreed meeting place *was* the Aston Martin garage (Volante & Vanquish atm) :)

Still, saw a Real Live DB9 walking back later - twice - and a Maybach (the car even Mum & Dad would have to sell their house to buy).

Somehow, I avoided getting very interesting suntan lines rom my tshirt-with-cutout-Superman-logo.

And we found singing drunken Australians⁴ on Sunday. Weekends don't get much better than that :)

1 - Well, unexplained other than being invited by minspi. Which is a damn fine reason.

2 - Although the corowd behind us, who were watching the REALLY BIG SCREEN seemed to be watching an entirely different concert, since they were dancing, standing looking bored, and waving camera phones in the air at completely different times from the rest of us. We reckoned they were being shown the previous night's Queen+PaulRodgers show instead. Oh, and despite what the website said, the Zutons weren't on the lineup, and despite what minspi's tshirt said, neither were Tog24.

3 - I blame ukmonty for being in Bath and making - making, I say, me drink his share too.

4 - On top of beer and jugs of cocktails, they had a round of flaming sambucas. One of them at least didn't realise that you extinguish the flame before drinking...

The real bugger about the damn thing is I was called back into London to help with "Stuff" at Aldgate on Saturday evening.

Perhaps the lineup was changed because the entire event had been moved at the very last minute to the following weekend, when the Zutons had a group dental appointment and Tog24 were out shaving amusing messages into the fleeces of sheep for a surprise (which I've now spoiled) for Michael Stipes birthday¹?

1. The fact² that I made this up doesn't make me any less of a person.

If his T-shirt also had the slogan "Mr Burgers", a price-list, and a queue of hungry patrons, I'd say you may be suffering from a case of mistaken identity. And it would explain why everyone else seemed to be watching a different concert.

Suddenly it all makes sense.

The Weekend

You seem to be having an extraordinary good time just lately. Good for you! I also hope that your liver is recovering - it will look like cherry beer soon. Hope that the job has been O.K. so far and that going back to work has not been too much of a shock for the system. I have it still to come in a couple of weeks time. Unfortunately my weekend at Leicester was not quite so enjoyable as I suffered from a rather nasty abcess in my cheek (whole of face swelled to football size/couldnt put glasses on etc etc)but fortunately a very obliging chemist sorted me out with max strength Ibuprofen and High dosage Amoxycillin, so now I look normal again and was able to come home today. Apart from that the electric piano with all the buttons for great sound that Himself acquired for £20.00 at a car boot is MEGA and we spent a lot of time playing on it. I can now play the chorus to a coup[le of things from memory and one from the beginner's book. Who cares if I am tone deaf I can see the notes and read the music so I can make tunes. Whoopee. Am going to spend the rest of my life learning new things every year. (and boring the pants off anyone who will listen!!!)
