Why do all the so many really really talented people live in / near Reading?

Latest pimping is for Bookity, who takes unloved books and turns them into Wonderful Things! I say this even as someone who can't bear to throw away a half-disintegrated paperback, but who has seen dozens upon dozens of old hardbacks thrown away by charity shops because nobody wants them.

Srsly, these things are beautiful.

AAAARRRGH! EVIL! EVIL BOOK KILLER!!!

We're not talking trashy Mills and Boon that deserve to be pulped - those look like perfectly nice books that I'd be pleased to find in an old book shop.

Aaaargh! I'm most disturbed now, you might as well have shown me kittens skinned, hollowed out and turned into handbags with added sequins.

Aaargh! ;-)

That's exactly what I thought when I heard...

But these are books that have been sitting in a bookshop for *ages* with lots of people going "What a nice book" but not actually buying them.

Rather than being thrown away, they've bene turned into Beautiful Things instead :) (And none of them are collectable.)

Because Reading is so full of high street crap that everybody creative stays at home and creates.
