Ok, there's a related article with a different point of view as well, but still THE RAGE. IT BURNS.

(Worst of all, I suspect it burns most because I have a deep-rooted belief that he's telling the truth. I dislike my RAGE being directed at myself.)

He's a US screenwriter who we've never heard of, so clearly spends all his time with wannabe starlets who realise that the only way they'll get a bit part in a straight-to-cable film is to be skeletal and plastic.

I'd *like* to spend £750 a month on looking good, but I have neither the money or the time.

I think if I had a spare £750 a month I would be doing IMHO better things with it than getting my hair done, you are right about the time though who has that time even if they have the money!

It vaguely worries me that women spend that much time/money grooming.

I have to admit that if I had £750 a month extra, I'd still spend next to nothing on beauty products. And it's not that I don't occasionally get the "wargh I look awful" thing, it's just that I know if I start doing that shit I'll have to keep up to it, and I'm way too lazy for that...
