Because a suspiciously high number of people on my flist are starting (or restarting) diets today.

I wish comfort food was low-calorie, I really do. Or even OMG-I'm-falling-asleep-I-need-blood-sugar-NOW food was low-calorie, since that's the bigger problem for me.

I'd like to be able to fasten my pvc jeans in time for Whitby, *without* needing a laced-to-hell-and-back corset underneath. They still fit my legs, but my waist is attempting (so far, successfully) to become convex. Maybe my navel's long-sighted? < /optics geekery >

Still, I've been told I don't look quite so much like death this morning as I did last week.

Arse. I need at least a month to get a decent run up to losing weight.

I'm not on a diet, merely giving up diet coke because my brain keeps buzzing and it's a bit annoying.

I've lost weight by cutting out everything other than the comfort food in the past. A packet of chocolate coated ginger biscuits will sustain a person for an entire day, just don't waste precious calories on sandwiches.

Sandwiches aren't the problem, it's all those tempting curries over the road from the cinema.

Unfortunately, I've needed both Real Food *and* sugar to keep me going through the last two weeks. Fie to a crippled metablism, I say.

It's the scythe. I'd ditch the scythe. And talking in all-caps probably doesn't help, either.

*hugs*

It must have been the scythe. I'm still hanging out with cats, after all, and my long black coat makes up for me not being a 7' skeleton.

*hugs* back, with added *rib-poking*.

Goth heels can also help with the 7' skeleton effect.

Oh, and Ow, my ribs!

Feed a cold, starve a fever...

I need discipline. Left to my own devices, I'll have crumpets for breakfast, then forget to eat until I'm falling asleep and wearing 3 jumpers to keep warm. Then only pizza and sweets wake me up again.

Mmmm, Steve :)

Also HOLY CRAP Shrublette at nursery? Whoa :o

I know. It's terrifying. Although, given the experience that the babbysitter had last night*, I would suggest it's more terrifying for the nursery than for Shrublette.

* being forced to do rock hands and whatever hands and play with toy cars and eat rice crispies...

I feel honour bound at this point to reiterate that I GAVE UP DIETING. And I've actually lost more weight since I did than I had done in a year and a half of restricted eating.

If your blood sugar's up-and-down go for things with protein in them instead of lots of sugar and carbs; you don't help yourself by creatinf artificial sugar highs.
