Bah!
2 weeks off a diet screws eveything up. I'm *sure* I have to overeat by a lower percentage of my daily needs to gain weight than I do undereat to lose it. Apparently the laws of physics don't apply in my stomach. I wouldn't mind so much, if chocolate & crisps & pizza weren's all so filling, while fruit & veg leaves me prowling round the kitchen, growling for more, an hour later. At least I'm back on track - after the Edinburgh and Norfolk weekends & the bathtub-full of booze I got through (not to mention the Irn Bru & chocolate & [livejournal.com profile] nannyo's very moreish cooking) I've got back to the weight Iwas *before* all that. Only another 15lbs to go... *eyeroll*

Woo!
I start the Great Manchester Run at 11.15. This menas I don't have to get up before 8.00. This is a Good Thing. It also means that, should I manage it in 1 1/2 hours (my aim, since I was *totally* out of shape & unable to move faster than a walk 2 months ago), I'll be finished just in time for lunch.

Thank you to everyone who's sponsored me. I really do appreciate it.

*Thunk*
Doctor Who. Of course. Clockwork brain lust (hell, yes), the best-looking Companion yet (the horse, natch, and doesn't Tennant have a good seat?), more of Rose realising that she's Not That Important, and My Fair Lady singing :) I did like how the Doctor was all OMGFanboy! about Mme. de Pompadour, too.

I've done precisely Very Little today. My hair's back to it's proper colour (insead of having an inch of root), I've been to Tesco's, washed up, watched Doctor Who and had a nap. One of the nicest bits about Norfolk was not being the only person to need a rest in the afternoon. I felt less crap, which was a refreshing change.

This is turning into a Monkees-esque arms-round-shoulders, bottle-held-aloft drunken lrch, isn't it?

Hurrah!

RE Dr. Who:

That was an absolutely excellent episode.
The ongoing Rose/Dr. relationship is a joy.
Now all we need is for Mickey to die painfully in a vat of protoplasmic goo and life would be complete.

I don't HATE Mickey. I just want him SO dead. It helps the series imho.
:)

Srsly:
Quality and funny.
Good sci-fi!
Hu rah!

Mickey serves a purpose. He makes the Doctor look even better, and provides opportunities for snarky comments (though I'd rather have the tin dog, or the horse).

Hurrah!

Congratulations! £215 is a nice sum of money. All the best for the run.

Dr Who was fun indeed. :o)

Carbohydrate is your friend. Learn to make couscous salads with lots of chickpeas and onion and chunks of pepper and seriously antisocial spices in - those'll fill you up :)

Erm - got any recipes?

Does couscous need hot water, or can you soak it directly in cold? What do I need to do to canned chickpeas before eating them? Cook, heat or just rinse?

Seriously, I live more of a bachelor lifestyle than most bachelors I know :( I can make pot noodles...

Hehehe, OK :) I don't think there are any in my cookery Memories (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=lark_ascending&keyword=Recipes&filter=all), but clearly I should fix this. I'll write one up and post it in my LJ in a bit :)
