aka: Why I Hate Gordon Brown (part 56).
I got a bonus. A bonus for all the silly hours I've been working, both back in September and recently. A bonus of £1,000 to be paid with my December salary. < /smug'n'amazed >
Unfortunately, that's before tax. After tax, I'll actually get about £600 (£650 if I'm lucky), and I'm only a standard rate taxpayer.
Still - at least I'll be able to get a new suit in the sales. I've decided against the beautiful cream Karen Millen one; at my height & width, I'd look like a rugby ball and that is not the most professional of appearances. Not to mention the risk of hair dye accidents every six weeks. No - I'll probably go for the personal shopper experience & see what they recommend (and let them do the running around). It may well come with a harder sell than individual shops, but it'll avoid all the crowds and queues and skinny wimmin in changing rooms designed for size eight beanpoles.
