Dead as a dead thing.

Bank holiday weekend included:

- Failing to find a pub in Stockport other than a Witherspoons that was open & serving food at Friday lunchtime.
- Failing to buy books in Borders, but laughing at "God Is My CEO" and sundry other management books.
- Watching Charlie & The CHocolate Factory from the Gallery in the Filmworks (big leather chairs, tables, bottomless snacks & soft drinks, cheap bar).
- More Chinese food (Little Yang Sing) than we could eat.
- Playing too much Top Trumps (& losing in possibly the shortest game ever - 17 turns from 30 cards...)
- Drinking at the Salisbury, eating Italian at Gio's, dancing at Jilly's.
- Walking round Langsett reservoir & finding THE SLOWEST CAR EVER to fallow home.
- Eating the biggest roast turkey meal ever at the best pub in the world in Cheadle.
- The best dessert ever (2 oreo-like cookies, but bigger, sandwiching a good 4" of vanilla ice cream, all covered in hot chocolate fudge sauce. Even when I was too full to swallow any more, I was still dipping my finger in the goop just for the taste :)
- Allcoating the seven deadly sins to the days of the week.

I need a bank holiday weekend to recover :)

Do we get a run-down of which Sin is on which day? I'm always worried I'm going to miss one out, or double up on one I've already done.

Tuesday - Thursday were a bit tricky, but it came down to:

Monday = Anger
Tuesday = Envy
Wednesday = Avarice
Thursday = Pride
Friday = Lust
Saturday = Sloth
Sunday = Gluttony

Course, to do Saturday properly, you'd have to have it as a day off, which would mean you were doing Sloth (not sloths, I hope) after all. But I'm sure you could take a day off now & then & fit two sins into one day to make up for it.

Personally, I'd swap Sloth & Lust, so as to allow Lust to take place when I'm free to gallavant about town rather than stuck in a male-populated office.

So, how are you doing Envy today?

Ah, but Friday nights are when people go for post-work booze ups and pull people they really didn't want to. Saturdays are for sitting around feeling lazy after a hard week at work.

I'm envying the woman who has Tuesday off instead of Monday this week because of the bank holiday. She got a lie-in. Bah. Envyenvyenvy.

And I'm envying your [livejournal.com profile] nannyo-cooked Sunday Brunch, too.

How about you?

I can't say I'm a big afficionado of the Friday-post-work-pull, but I'll take your word for it. Does it count as Sloth if its Saturday and no-one is expecting you to work?

I have a variety of choices for envy. Do you have any preference for the general style of envy I should try today?

Alternatively, couldn't you link the sins to the 'child of the day' rhyme?
Thus: Monday's child is fair of face = Pride, etc.

Robin has a big bag o' your stuff. He says he'll pass it on to you at Whitby.

Or, if you need it earlier, I could add as courier next month.

I read "act" anyway...

Considering I can't remember whay the stuff is, it's not urgent. Whatever's most convenient for you both will be fine :)

Thanks :) My phone had died without me noticing.

The children of the day are a bit to stickily sweet, really. Nothing in the rhyme suggests they all hae red hair, at all.

Girlie days out

Just posted to Dr Liz that we should have a girlie day buying bras/watching films/eating wonderful food and drinking. Am off for the week Sept10 - Sept 18. Got any free days then? Also wanted to loook in Waterstones/Smiths in Manch for some good eye candy posters for the library. (But they must be dressed so as not to offend the Muslims.)
Thats a nice piccy of the Hamster btw. Need to go looking with giggling compatriots. Its no fun on your own.

Whilst I appreciate being credited with extra qualifications, that's Nurse Liz, not Dr Liz. I'm actually interested in patients, which is how you can tell the difference. :)

Unfortunately I'm not free during those dates - due to spending my life between two different counties, I tend to need a bit more notice. Throw some October dates at me (weekends are preferable) and we should be able to sort something out.
