Ooooh, Real Life!
Feb. 13th, 2007 09:40 amI really am achieving very little indeed at the moment; the weather is making me want to stay inside with the Three Cs (Coffee, Computer, Cats) and not move. The band of temperatures in which I operate efficiently is ridiculously narrow, and this is more than one standard deviation from FWHH. Humbug.
I did manage to get over to see
snapesbabe and the Smallest Elder God on Sunday :) Yummy yummy dead hen, sprouts & carrots (too squishy for our liking, but it kept The Bloke happy), then apple crumble with farty flour. Laughed 'til I hurt at Top Gear, and tried each other's latest BPAL hoards.
Manda Scott's fourth Boudica book is shaping up to be just as good as the first three, although I'm convinced that my usual curse (favourite characters dying tragically) is going to apply once again. I suppose there's still 700-odd pages for Valerius (né Bàn) and Corvus to run off & live Happily Ever After together, but I'm not holding my breath :(
Oooh, and the Kerrang! channel had their classics show - I'd forgotten just how pretty Axl Rose used to be in his "Welcome To The Jungle" days.
Seeing a DB9 Volante & Gallardo on the way home was the icing on the (very shiny) cake :) Although it's thrown today's "they'll sack me if I skive work" into sharp relief.
strangefrontier posted a link to her University careers website over the weekend and, based on what I said I wanted lots of & none of, apparently I should work in intelligence or town planning. An interesting choice. I think I'd prefer to be an International Man Madam of Mystery, of the two.
