I will win. I will!

Those are yummy colours!

And I've just cast on the first few stitches of my next pair of socks, I'm that excited. Actually, I may chuck in my C&G embroidery course so I can spend every second knitting instead as the eyeball monsters I made today suck.

Second place is good, considering when I started :)

I have No Idea what to make from the Trinity. Something lacy and pointless, I think, but the shape hasn't made itself known, yet.

Nor do I have Plans for the other bits. If you *particularly* like either one, I'm open to swaps.

Do you think hair dye would colour wool the colour it turns hair, or the colour the gunk is while it's developing?

Despite the fact that hair and wool are both cellulose, I'm not convinced dyeing with hair dye would work. Wool is much finer and there are lots of weird chemicals in hair dye which are there to deal with oil from the head and the things a modern woman's hair encounters. I think you'd probably get sludgy colours but then I haven't tried it so I could be entirely wrong. The chemicals could also make it feel really dry and crappy.

Funky coloured dyes would probably wash out without the right chemicals to fix them. I'd suggest acid dyes from somewhere like http://www.omegadyes.co.uk/ if you've really got your heart set on it.

Sometimes knitting wool is treated with chemicals so that it repels things you spill on yourself and thus doesn't dye well. Also it's really hard to get bright colours like you can when dying cotton. Cotton, silk and hemp dye up a treat.

Poo :( Cos I don't want to get into Complicated Dyeing Procedures for 4 balls of something for which I don't have a Plan.

What *could* I make from it? Other than yet another scarf or hat. There's £30 worth there, so I don't want to waste it.
