Help!

Help! Help! I'm trapped in darkest Yorkshire! [livejournal.com profile] nannyo made me get up before 8am on a Monday and is making me work!

[identity profile] miss-s-b.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 12:29 pm (UTC)(link)
LMAO you can escape to Brighouse if you like and come climbing with me and daddy ;)

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have done, but...

The electricity ws turned off at lunchtime, so I escaped came home. Also, I don't think I'm quite fit enough to climb just yet :(

[identity profile] miss-s-b.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Me either, but the climbing is helping me get that way ;)

I'm having visions which I don't know I want to have. Damn my brain and active imagination!

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Argh! I keep confusing you with Wez when you both use the Demon Monkek!

[identity profile] nannyo.livejournal.com 2006-02-28 09:47 am (UTC)(link)
Does he use him as well? This is MOST unfair, how dare he use his own creations!
N.

You are a Very Strange Man :p

[identity profile] karohemd.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:32 pm (UTC)(link)
I take that as a compliment. :o)

[identity profile] whotheheckami.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 12:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Get back to work you slacker! ;@)

[identity profile] riksowden.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 12:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Darkest Yorkshire eh?

You lucky, lucky girl! Its going to be April or May till i can get up there again!

[identity profile] miss-s-b.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
* comforts the poor exile *

There there, sweetie. You can take a person out of Yorkshire, but you can't take Yorkshire out of the person.

[identity profile] riksowden.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 12:57 pm (UTC)(link)
*sniff* Thank'ee...

Still, weekend before last was back in Hull, and had wonderful, wonderful (proper) fish and chips in Beverley...beautiful - you can't get proper chips south of the Pennines. And the fish? pah!

Hmm...visiting Aussie was mentioning wanting to meet my Nan...there is Carvers...can always demonstrate why scorn should be poured on folks who claim British food is rubbish...

Only problem with going back is that i have to leave!

[identity profile] dr-wez.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
What on Earth were you doing in Beverley?

[identity profile] riksowden.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm, going for fish n' chips (it was a nice fish resturant - not sure what it was called though) and pottering around the shops. Not exciting, but no more stress than the poor alcohol-riddled body could handle either!

I know the feeling. I was at a wedding in Beverley last summer, as it happens. That was a bizarre and booze-ridden experience. Hmmm.

Rik is a Yorkshireman in exile in Birmingham, much like you're an Essex Boy in exile in Cambridge ;)

[identity profile] dr-wez.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 11:18 pm (UTC)(link)
*ahem* I'm a Yorkshireman, trapped in an Essex Boy's body, in exile in Cambridge, I-think-you'll-find. Tsk!

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Pretty North Yorks, too! The nice bit!

[identity profile] riksowden.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:17 pm (UTC)(link)
The nice bit?

OOoooooh - you mean Yorkshire!

[identity profile] dr-wez.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
She's evidently not succeeding if you're posting on LJ...

[identity profile] nannyo.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
It's ok, I came back into the office and pushed her from the computer. Her mighty powers of cogitation are mine, ALL MINE!

I'll send round some Nibblonians to make with the thwarting.

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 05:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Are they like Elbonians, but with better mud?

[identity profile] dr-wez.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I was thinking of Nibbler, as it happened, but mud-free reticence is good, too.

N went to forage for sustenance, and I sneaked out through a gap in the bars.

Alas, she returned and caught me red-handed. Ouch.

PRETTY North Yorkshire

[identity profile] dragonmamma.livejournal.com 2006-02-27 06:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Its going to get even prettier if the snow and blizzards they're forecasting arrive as planned. Unfortunately i'm across the border in darkest Lancs. and its absolutely bloody freezing and damp here with the sound of determined rain on the window. I'm trying not to look as it was all sleety earlier and it will just make me feel colder. Told at school this morning that if the threatened weather arrives I will be phoned before 8.15 and told not to go in. Hurrah, could be a short week and then I could go and throw snowballs at the ducks in the park!!

At least you're not in Cambridge, where it's wet, cold, windy and flat and dull.

Thought for the day: what do ducks shout at each other when people are throwing snowballs at their heads?

Been doing hand-stands on the Aga again?
