mea culpa, mea culpa, mea madida culpa

Having a cat curl up on my lap & purr lots = lovely.

Having a cat curl up on my lap & purr lots, then fart, then hiccup so both smells reach me at the same time = chemical warfare. How can so much stink come out of such a small cat?

I apologise for the weather. It's my fault. The last time I left my umbrella at home it rained, too.

English = weather post

I reckon that, when it hits 20o anywhere, aircon should come on. That includes outside. Despite the storm yesterday, it's horribly hot & stuffy today - like breathing soup1.

I'm missing my bright ginger hair. It was dry as straw, but at least it reflected the sun. *Thinks* Though actually, it would take a while to get short enough to be off my neck. Maybe cutting it all off & going peroxide blonde would be a better idea.

[livejournal.com profile] vulgarcriminal and [livejournal.com profile] nannyo have inspired me. I'm too unpracticed to do a full install of Project Bimbo, but I'm in the mood to try Bimbo For Beginners. I've been getting into the habit of shaving my legs (gasp!) every week - though I'm still not happy with the thought of showing them in public - so I can wear long skirts to the office. My toenails are currently scarlet. What else can I add to the "technically a girl" routine?

(no subject)

I'm back home after a weekend of swelteringly hot public transport, a slightly less sweltering car, and seeing people.

Thanks to (a) work being gits, and (b) being knackered, I didn't drive home til Saturday morning, at which point 2 people decided to write off Puntos on the M6. Jolly good fun. Still managed to get home, avoiding the worst of the Silverstome and Milton Keynes Bowl queues, dropped off my hoover with the traditional cry of "Daddy Fix", and went to find [livejournal.com profile] kitty_goth in Camden. Which was *relatively* quiet, if (and I never thought I'd say this) Too Hot To Shop. Still, I've had a pint in the Dev, which almost makes me a real goth. Getting overexcited about finding the video to "Perfect Strangers" (a rock video, with no scantily-clad women. Who'd have thought it?) on YouTube negates most of it, though :)

Met many other crazy cat ladies & knitters, including [livejournal.com profile] miss_newham again (very scary LJ friends overlaps), watched Doctor Who (disappointing but still pretty good), went to Antilight (great place, minimal bleep and decent aircon) and had All The Food In The World in the park :) Failed to meet up with Sister because her hangover was too bad for the tube.

Hitchin had its first rain since the hosepipe ban last night, because I washed my car. Bah. Found an old Top Gear on Sky and remembered just how much I want a TVR Griffith. Was quite horrified at how much James May's aged over the last three years.

The cats haven't eaten the furniture (or been sick anywhere visible, which is a nice change).

ETA: Found the catpuke! All is right with the world!

Semi-automatic meerkats

Well, almost. Bears with shotguns, cats with flickknives, cows with guns (and chickens with choppers) and snakes with airlifting capabilities, anyway. Not to mention the smoked salmon and cream cheese jet-propelled beagles in socks on laminate floors.

Which more than made up for the REM concert being postponed.

My travelling to Euston demon has been exorcised.

Exceedingly hot & stuffy. Sure, going back to work tomorrow is a little (hah!) nerve wracking, but I'm looking forward to the aircon.
