English = weather post
I reckon that, when it hits 20o anywhere, aircon should come on. That includes outside. Despite the storm yesterday, it's horribly hot & stuffy today - like breathing soup1.
I'm missing my bright ginger hair. It was dry as straw, but at least it reflected the sun. *Thinks* Though actually, it would take a while to get short enough to be off my neck. Maybe cutting it all off & going peroxide blonde would be a better idea.

vulgarcriminal and
nannyo have inspired me. I'm too unpracticed to do a full install of Project Bimbo, but I'm in the mood to try Bimbo For Beginners. I've been getting into the habit of shaving my legs (gasp!) every week - though I'm still not happy with the thought of showing them in public - so I can wear long skirts to the office. My toenails are currently scarlet. What else can I add to the "technically a girl" routine?

Actually, I think you posted a ginger photo of you (doing archery) a few years back but it was a shot from diagonally behind.

That's not the brightest it was, by far - I used to use this colour.
I have no idea about HTLGN. I barely watch TV, especially since Top Gear isn't on atm ;)

And hey, you do have legs! :o)
That second hair colour is one of my favourites...

But hey, I *did* have a tan!

Project girl
- shape eye brows
- Body brush
- Exfoliate whole body every 3 days
- Cleanse tone and moisturise face morning and night
- Use eye cream
- Have a facial on a regular basis
- Matching sets of underwear - lots of them
that's just off the top of my head :)
Re: Project girl
Nails - I chew at the edges, so filing is a bit optimistic.
Eyebrows - ok, I do this.
Body brush - honestly, does this make a difference?
Exfoliate - with what? Nothing I've used (exfoliating shower gels, scratchy soaps, bath mitts) seems to make a difference.
CT&M face - apparently, Eve Lom cleanser menas I only need to use that, which I am doing. Phew.
Eye cream - again, does this make a visible difference?
Facial - isn't this just paying someone a lot of cash to wash your face for you?
Matching undies - HAHAHAHAHA. Ok; they match insofar as they're mainly black. But 34Fs tend to be manmade fibres, and I like cotton for knickers. Also, £35 a bra means I don't tend to have 14 of them.
Sounds like exfoliating, body brushing or eye cream to me, if you can convince me that they actually make a visible difference :)
Re: Project girl
Exfoliating is marvellous, again you'll only get the benefits if you do it regularly.
Actually, I'll add to these two. For the best skin you need to body brush daily, exfoliate twice a week and moisturise EVERY DAY (baby oil is the quickest way to do this)
Eye cream - apparently to protect and look after the more fragile skin around the eyes. It should be tapped around the eye socket line, it will then creep in. You shouldn't put any actual cream on your eyes or they can get puffy. I don't know the science behind it all but I wouldn't be without the stuff.
You can do your own facials (masks and the like)
If you can stop biting your nails then this would be good.
Re: Project girl
I don't have a body brush, but I do have exfoliating bath mitts. Will using them twice a week and applying body lotion every morning make a visible difference? To start with; theres no way I'd keep up with everyting if I tried to do it all straight away. How long do I have to scrub away for? Is just going over everywhere once, like with a flannel in the shower, enough? Or do I need to spend longer?

(Anonymous) 2006-07-04 10:28 am (UTC)(link)I wrote a big reply to this and my internet crashed.
Best to do things gradually indeed.
I reckon twice weely exfoliation and moisturising daily will make your skin healthier and it will look and feel nicer.
Exfoliate firmly but not too hard, if you use a scrub use circular movement (clockwise over body), using a mitt either do this or use long stroke towards the heart. Ankle to Knee, knee to thigh, wrist to shoulder. Circular clockwise movements on abdomen, gentle on boobs. Back and bum attack at will.
About 5 minutes tops.
Another thing that is a very girl like thing to do is to get your colours done. I've never had it done myself and fancy doing it if you fancy coming along? :)

Re: Project girl
Re: colours, I was definitely an autumn when I had ginger hair. I've since been told I'm a winter, but that was just in Sue's front room & so the light wasn't ideal. I'd certainly be interested. Or a personal shopper afternoon - I need a new suit for work.
Re: Project girl
I may try to organise a group session for a colour consultant, split the cost round a few of us.

Re: Project girl
If I could afford it I'd have regular facials, they are marvellous. As it is I do homemade type things to try to compensate.
In all truth though, as far as skin care goes, these things are fab but the best things youcan do are drink 8 glasses of water a day and use SPF

Re: Project girl
If I use sun cream on my face I get spots.

I dunno, it's served me well on the not-spending-tons-of-meagre-income-on-skin-products front. ;)
