When Nineve was a kitten and used to do this, I pushed her out of bed and refused to get up even if I was awake. Now she waits for me.

Yup. That's how I trained the Fluffs.

They got the message that Mummy was grumpy when woken up quite quickly. I used to regularly wake up to Sirocco sitting 2cm from my nose, staring fixedly at my eyes to find out whether it was safe to talk to me yet...

Yes, I remember when El's flatmate had a cat and when she was out of town the damn thing would come into El's room and stand on our heads and howl until we saw to it's feline needs. The little swine!
