Bwahahaha!
Yup. My Evil SuperPower has just been confirmed :)
Our filing room girl is something of a manga fan. We've just had a lovely little Death Note squee, and I commented on the D Gray Man next to her computer (v pretty. No overly-childlike characters. Must Investigate).
She hadn't realised Saiyuki Reload was up to vol 7. nor that it's relatively cheap n Amazon (at least compared with Forbidden Planet)...

Shrubby loves that I have Chucks too, now, though. She wears hers lots anyway, and now we match!

By the way, are you going to Amecon by any chance?

I've never heard of Amecon! Connotations will be my first convention; I've heard of Squeefest, but gather it's even smaller & invitation-only, and apart from that have *no* idea of what else is going on.
I possibly have the time to change that, depending on when & where it is.

Amecon is a bigger anime convention (www.amecon.org) in Leicester. It's mostly populated by uni students, but I've been to the last couple and enjoyed them (and I'm planning on being there this year) - they're good for watching anime you might not otherwise encounter, and I've picked up bargains at the Dealers room for manga and anime DVDs etc. Not much fo a yaoi/slash focus, though - usually just one panel which can be a bit late-night and squeaky. I think Amecon's full for this August, but there's a waiting list.
There's a couple of other conventions around - check out the squeefest links list. We try to network and help people find out about new conventions etc.

I was going to say, please don't feel obliged to - I have a horror of muscling into things where people are too polite to tell me "no". I'll have a look, though, and if you're sure, I'll see if I can get there :)
