[livejournal.com profile] springkink is open and taking claims. It's enormous. I'm glad I waited until now; I've made 10 claims as it is, and that was after several were got before I arrived.

Some of the prompts scare me. Looney Tunes? Tom & Jerry? *gulp*

Mind you, I'm really tempted to get my scanner sorted out. I'm getting itchy fingers over some ideas, even though it's been 5-6 years since I last drew in anger. [livejournal.com profile] vulgarcriminal? I'm around this weekend, if your offer still stands :)

I want to know who came up with that Andy/Andy Hot Fuzz prompt. Weirdo. Hehe.

Anyway, I'll be making a couple of claims. More than a couple for art too, probably.

Dude. Jane Austen? You rock :)

Complete lack of anything I'd REALLY like to do, but that sounded like fun. American Gods looked cool too, but I don't play in Neil Gaiman's sandbox.

*Nods* I was beaten to the Sandman / WK crossover. That's probably a good thing, since I doubt I'd have done it the justice it demands.

It's the national weekend :(. We're going to be in sunny ESSEX. When do you have free after?

Essex? Argh!

Weekends in general are quite empty atm. When's best for you?

possibly Sunday afternoon of bank holiday weekend? Mr. Me wants to take pictures on the Monday :)

Here is a list of things to do in the mean time!

1. Run Disk Cleanup on your machine
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools

It will probably take a while so you might want to leave it overnight. Let it delete everything it finds.

2. Clear out any .tmp files Disk Cleanup missed
Start/Search
Do a search for *.tmp on all hard drives. Delete them and empty your recycle bin.

3. Then Defrag!
Again, let this run overnight as it might take a while.
Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools

4. If you have Windows XP
start/run/msconfig
Go to start up tab
Clear *everything* and reboot. It means things like gtalk, yahoo messenger and msn won't start up immediately anymore but those things can be a massive system drain and you can always start them from programs.

Reboot system, let it run chkdsk and Defrag again.

That's stuff I probably wouldn't be able to do in sequence in one afternoon.

Thank you!

Right...

1. Done.
2. Done.
3. C: done. D:? I get an error message saying "Disk defragmenter has detected that Chkdsk is scheduled to run on the volume: DATA (D:). Please run Chkdsk /f.

So I did Start - Run - Chkdsk /f and it couldn't, because the volume was in use by another process. So I shut down, then I restarted, it Chkdsked by itself as usual, and the Very First Thing I did was to try defragging D: again. Same problem.

I have XP, so I'll try Thing 4 next. Being unable to defrag is worrying.

That Sunday would be fine :) I shall take you to a Very Nice curry place after, if you don't want cash :)
