*Determinedly cheering up*

The little storm-cloud:

25 Feb: on the needles. 3.25mm needles at that - I like skinny, lightweight ones.

26 Feb: Finished & blocked.

And on me; I'll do the other one the way the pattern says (although without the mistake; M1, where it actually needed to be K1, 11 times would have done very strange things to the shape), but then I think I'll do another pair in Jay, with the green beads, and try giving them some shape at the wrist. These are extremely cylindrical.

Tis all fluffy and cute! Although it does make you look a bit like Michael Jackson...

Why, you....! *Brandishes ragwort*

Just for that, I'll knit you something primrose yellow and make you wear it to the pub quiz, because it would be rude to reject a present :p

Those look lovely! Don't suppose I could commission some in black or a very dark grey? (Like actually pay you for your time/materials....)

No particular timescale so long as its before next winter.

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2007-02-27 10:13 am (UTC)(link)
Sure!

Order a hank of "Parisienne" from Colinette.com in the colour you want them and send it to me. I have more than enough of the haematite-colour beads. A pair of them takes less than half a hank, so I'll adopt what's left over as payment, if that's ok with you?

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2007-02-27 01:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, I had a spare few minutes and went & looked at colours. Bright Charcoal looks to be the most "dark grey" of them all - Castagna is very definitely woody-brown (I knitted Dad a scarf in it for Christmas) and Raphael is more purple than grey.

You could always go for the mohair instead of Parisienne to get more choice, but it's a lot thicker and I'm not sure the beads would fit.

I've ordered the yarn, that's a very pretty colour!

Thanks very much. I've asked them to send it to Harrogate, in the hope it will arrive in time for Saturday, when I'll be seeing you. You can measure my hand width then, which I'm sure will be bigger than yours due to a joint fever when I was a child.

By the way, looking at your domestic bliss icon makes me wonder what the person on the bed is up to, with their hand positioned just so - or is that the point? Or is my mind just in the gutter?

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2007-02-28 10:25 am (UTC)(link)
I hope it does get there in time :)

I honestly hadn't thought that about the icon (although now I can't *not* think it!). It's more than possible, though, given the character's personality - he's a notorious letch :)
