Colinette order
I'm caving in & joining the knitting craze.
Would anyone would like to join in with a Colinette order? Let me know here (comments are screened, in case it's for a present).
ETA: Paypal works, as does cash if I'm likely to see you. Cheques get forgotten about. I'll order on Friday 9th - a week tomorrow.

That way, I can look at everything they do and even if I can't work out how to knit, I may order some wool to make hair falls and the like with instead... (and gives me time to save)

Sorry for the delay - couldn't remember whether I'd changed it to gmail. Anyway, I'll let you know when I've placed the order.

I sort of know how to knit, insofar as I can cast on & off, and do knit & purl, but I'm hazy about increasing & decreasing, and remember a habit of dropping stitches. I do know that chunky wool on big friendly needles is easier than old lady wool and skinny needles though :)

I'm not alowing myself to buy yarn at the moment, but squee! colinette!

A LJer suggests steel wool (actually I know an artist who knits with large metal cables so if you were wanting to commission a knitted car..)

other than that, nope, no knitted engines that I can find. I did stumble on a Prius dating service though.

Don't you mean "yarns"?
If you get another bag, you might find a nice hank to complement a current project... And I'll see you at least twice between ordering & the New Year :p

It might be worth trying to get a fairly standard, non fluffy or slubby yarn for your first go though - it makes learning so much easier, and you can quickly move on to the more exciting stuff!

Learning to knit with something you like is the best thing ever.

Yes. I need things I want, in yarn I like. I need to push toe 1970s/80s Woman's Own patterns out of my head & have fun :)

It's gorgeous stuff and would inspire even the least artistic of people.
I may well ask for translations of patterns. They read like sifc pdio ec hzag gr to me.

Needle-less to say, I'm much better now!

Did anythign turn out well? How did you avoid things looking like Woman's Own patterns?
