BPAL: Muse; Come to Me; Hellcat; Inferno

Before the next load arrive (and I swore I wasn't going to get hooked...).

Love Potions: MUSE
A light, invigorating floral and citrus blend. Tuberose, lotus and jasmine with a hint of lime.

Sherbert lemons. That's it.

Voodoo Blends: COME TO ME
A phenomenally powerful attractant. Sexual and commanding in the extreme.

If I'd paid money for this I'd be pissed of in the extreme. Haze air freshener, from a generic pinky purple can.

Diabolus: HELLCAT
A soft, sensual, luxuriant blend with a wicked bite: hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond.

Very sweet; the buttercream is clear. There's something sweetly alcoholic - it's more like a sticky than rum, though. I can't tell the hazelnut from the almond, but there's definitely something nutty. Nice, but too sweet, really.

Dark Elements: INFERNO
The Dark Side of Fire: cinnamon, bitter almond, and neroli. Heavily spiced, torrid, and possibly conflagrant.

Started off smelling like simnel cake. Incredibly marzipanny, but within half an hour had turned into Big Red chewing gum / Fireball jawbreakers, etc. Basically, pure cinnamon. The neroli never stood a chance.

I'm quite interested in 'Come To Me', mostly because it's got such drastically different reviews from different people. [profile] slappersire found it really quite effective, whereas you and [profile] lanfykins seem to have just not gotten anything out of it. One thing [profile] slappersire did say what that it wasn't so much the scent that did it for her as much as the effect it seemed to have on the men around her.

Maybe it's worth wearing for a night out and seeing if it picks up others without your assistance?

I would say I'd post it to you, but I've already passed it on to [livejournal.com profile] nannyo...

I don't think I could pick up anyone in it anyway, if only because it would make me feel so overwhelmingly old-woman-ish.

I shall live without it. :)

I've currently got 10 imps from various sources appearing soon. Was just very odd to see the very varied reviews of the scent. I may peer at [profile] nannyo's LJ, and see how it goes down there. :)

Muse: sure it wasn't pear drops? :)

I entirely agree with you about Come To Me, though. It's put me off the entire Voodoo range, not to mention ever again trying something when I don't know what's in it...

I'm strangely fascinated by the voodoo range - it's basically why I bought the ebay collection of imps I've got coming to me - I wanted to try Jazz Funeral.

I think I'm starting to figure out how to translate BPAL-speak. Graveyard dirt, Spanish moss & flowers end up smelling like a compost heap on me...

*grins*

I'm a bit worried I'll end up sending like a brewery - there are two different alcohol scents in there. But it sounds _so_ interesting, and right now I'm still in a stage of wanting to know what all these astonishing descriptions turn into in real life.

I shall post up a review of Jazz Funeral when it arrives.

It was sherbert lemons, then I had a shower. It might have ended up as esters, but I didn't give it the chance.

Fire of Loveis quite nice (I'm trying it again, now). I think I need to find someone with similar chemistry to me, or work out that if X says something's too smoky for them, I'll like it.

Hmm. I find smoke way too strong for me - it's just choking and really unpleasant. I don't know whether that's preference or my skin chemistry. But I certainly tend to smell it out a mile off, so you might want to keep an eye on my reviews. Of which I owe LJ many...

Cinnamon really does seem to be a note that only works for a few people. Enraged Groundhog Musk (forum-only limited edition! woe!) did that to me - cinnamon Aftershock with a faint undertone of rancid butter.
