*Avoidance* and a question?

Say somebody's putting together a fanmix. For example, a selection of somgs that remind them of Firefly, or Stargate: Atlantis. Now say you're downloading the songs they've chosen, being something of a fan of the series in point.

Would you prefer the songs to (a) be musically cohesive, similar in style, age & attitude; or (b) be more accurately reminiscent of the subject matter & characters? In otherwords, should selections be made on the basis of the music or the lyrics?

There is no option (c) "whatever you like, since it's your fanmix".

Lyrics and general tone of song are most important, but it's also important to have the songs follow one from each other. This is why I have a proper serious SGA playlist and a slashy silly hee! SGA playlist.
