Superman

- So much Kevin Spacey love!

- Out of all the funky abilities, I want Lex Luthor's most. I want to be able to keep a long cream coat clean in a filthy, freshly-grown crystalline continent while beating the crap out of a man in tights.

- I did wonder, how / when did Superman realise about the kid. Going by his age, though, either Lois was *very* quick to replace him, or it's blindingly obvious.

- Nice chest :)

- Oooh, the return of the original cock juggling thunder cunt from Blade: Trinity! Complete with pomeranian! Parker Posey's strange, but I like her.

- Um. Nope; it was pretty much as expected. Nice effects, nice eyecandy, some nice cackle-inducing moments, otherwise Just Another Brian Singer Superhero Film.

I did wonder, how / when did Superman realise about the kid.

That's what Lois whispered to him when he was unconscious.

Ah :) I wondered about that too, but then forgot.

I have read this post three times just to check that the phrase "cock juggling thunder cunt" is still there. Marvellous.

Also is the bit when the bullet hits his eye the best shot of the film or not? If it is I shan't bother going to see the rest of it.

Possibly, though there's one shot where he stops a plane that's comparable. In general, one of the things I was pleased with was how some thought had been given to having the laws of physics seem to apply to objects other than Superman and his costume.

You mean except for the planet with 2 sets of perpendicular rings?

But yes; that and paying attention to the internal structures of planes & yachts was a nice touch.

[identity profile] marcushill.livejournal.com 2006-07-17 06:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I forgot about that impossible planet. Of course, it's also a planet big enough to get itself some rings and yet not collapse into a spherical shape.

It's the most impressive shot, but the Kevin Spacey moments all eclipse it. I have one of those cinema cards where I pay monthly for as many films as I can eat, so don't really worry about whether they're worth the price of admission any more.

But it's a continuation of the first two superman films, and in the first one he TRAVELLED BACKWARDS IN TIME BY MAKING THE EARTH CHANGE DIRECTION.

After that, pretty much all bets are off.

I thought it was really depressing! :(

I really like the original film, but with this new one I think what they've done with the costume sums up the whole thing. They've taken something bright and colourful and made it dull and drab.

I don't think Bryan Singer should be allowed to make any more superhero films until he learns how to make them FUN!
