Lalalalala

Making Concrete Arrangemnets can make an event seem Real, instead of something-that-might-happen-unless-the-Universe-conspires-against-me.

It's official - I'm going to see REM in Hyde Park on 11 July :) Lalalala and you're not :p (unless you're [livejournal.com profile] minspi, of course, since he's the one who got the tickets).

So... I just have to finish my gamma imaging TMA, get to [livejournal.com profile] fire_kitten's party, and do some semblance of housework in my Last Week of Freedom before then.

Note to Self: when self has used up all one's savings (and more) in surviving for 2 years without a real income and can barely afford a hairdryer-powered rollerskate, test driving a Toyota Celica T-Sport is a Bad Idea (however much fun it might be at the time).

Dribbling down one's front at the Chrysler Crossfire soft top parked outside the patchwork shop isn't recommended, either.

Sorry to hear you're not coming to Norfolk, but hooray! for REM and [livejournal.com profile] minspi (do you think my texts helped?)

See you at the party at the weekend.

Whee, party!

I don't think your texts can have been quite as scary as you thought... ;)

I agree with Liz on all of the above (she is my mighty leader, I must not doubt), and apparently your texts did 'funny things to his brain'...(I think that's a good 'funny things')

However, *woe* I will not be at the party, cos I'm going to Wimbleedon with my mum...I expect drunken texts from both of you, or I will sulk.

I promise to bombard you with texts. And if you insist that they must be drunken, then who am I to argue?

We'll miss you sweetie, have fun at the tennis.

The Chrysler Crossfire might look very cool indeed but being an American car, it would cost a fortune to run, have low fuel efficiency and crap handling.

The Celica looks nice, though. When my Punto breathes its final breath (hopefully not for another five years at least), I'm going to get a Japanese car. If I manage to change jobs in that timescale, a hybrid would be very cool indeed.

Crossfire claims 27 mpg from a 3.2l engine, which is similar to my 1.6l Astra (old engine). And it's the result of the crossbreeding with Mercedes, so should be more reliable than many Chryslers.

Besides, it's a pretty car, so efficiency isn't what you buy one for!

The Celica's lovely, but has been around for ages & ages. The Yaris has just been revamped after only a few years, so I'm wary of lusting after something that's about to become obsolete.

Realistically, I'll end up with a Corolla (middle range), a Yaris (T-Style or T Sport) or a Honda Civic (mid-range again). Depends how much I maange to save once back at work :)

I would be very very jealous of you seeing REM, but [livejournal.com profile] royan and I saw them at the Isle of Wight festival the other week. It was ace! You'll have such a great time! Also, we'll be seeing you at [livejournal.com profile] fire_kitten's party.

Whee! See you soon :)

dribbling down ones front......

I have the same reaction to the Bentley Continental and no money for similar reasons. Am intending to get to Fk's this weekend if we can car share . Will try to ring you and confirm.

Yes - car sharing is a Good Thing (though I might not be very chatty on the way home, depending on Beer Levels...) ;) Will speak soo to arrange things.
