Has anyone heard of Goldblade?

Cos Pete their guitarist is the partner of one of my Uni friends, and turned up to the wedding on Saturday in a tartan flannel suit & a Clash tshirt :) Neither he nor I expected to end up discussing Capt. Sensible's trainspotting habits or Whitby whilst surrounded by physicists in Tunbridge Wells :)

It was a lovely wedding, my hair Things by Needles (just like those in the userpic) were admired by everyone (including an old lady who mistook me for an orchid after a couple of glasses of Kir Royale), and I managed to get through a ceilidh in 4" heels.

More intriguingly, Grim's new girlfriend reminds me of me (in personality), and I still thought she was fantastically good company. Agreeing that all you need for childcare is a long rope, some shelter & a bowl of water was a good start :p

Mum's in denial, and so is coping amazingly well. Dad is already starting to fall apart at the seams.

Oooh, Doctor Who :) Actually, Oooh, Capt. Jack :) Considering his Oooohness, he realy should have died at the end.

He can shave in the morning and have enough beard growth to leave stubble rash by elevenses.

I know this because of the time Lianne (the physicist-turned-landscape-gardener who used to roller blade round B&Q,a nd do peacock impressions behind BBC camera crews) & I tried to pritt stick him to the bench in the bubble chamber room :)

Yep, saw 'em on Mayday in Brum - they were good (if there was one person on your flist who'd have heard of them, it'd be me really, wouldn't it?!)

I thought so :) Pete & Abi live in north Brum, so it makes sense! The downloads available on their website are actually quite good - I never thought I'd say that about punk :p

See, Mup and I think that Dr. Who is a sexy physicist (well, I think he's sexy in the current incarnation), and Capt Jack has got to be a physicist too (manipulating time and space? definitely), and he has got the sexy all wrapped up!

I dunno about Jack - just being able to drive a ship doesn't make you a scientist. Although I suppose he has to keep it going in case of breakdown... OK then, he's in. Hurrah!

Have you seen the pictures [livejournal.com profile] daegaer linked to? Mmmmmm ;)

I haven't yet, but I'm off there now... Woo! sexy photos for breakfast.

Coo, yes, isn't that John Robb's band? I have a CD somewhere... they were once managed by an ex of mine, Eric Longley. They've probably moved on by now, hope they're doing well!

Yup, that's them! They're still going, albeit with some lineup chanes since the original lot. Pete isn'y making enough to live on yet, but he's having a whale of a time and reckons they're heading in the right direction. They certianly sound ok to me :)

Though it's probably a good thing that he & I didn't mug the ceilidh band & get creative...

Yep, I saw them when I was a stoodent in Manchester. They were part of a themed all day gig thing that one of the bars on Oldham Street used to do every couple of months. I saw them play at the Madonna themed one... can't remember which song they covered though.
