Why are there no men in the pictures?

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2006-10-01 05:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Sling the link about. Start spreading the news - I'm livid today...

I hope it's a pisstake, but [livejournal.com profile] westernind didn't think so, and I respect her Knowledge of Many Things.

Because men don't worry about being wider than a size 12.

* sigh *

that's absolutely obscene.

photography being accurate depiction? oh, no, we can't have that.

how about an automated "ugly filter" to remove the faces of those you deem to have come up short on looks, too?
" They say cameras add ten pounds " the advertising blurb says. so who the **** are the "they" in this shallow-minded planet of idiots who say that? quite aside from the body fascism that it promotes, that's a downright insult to every one of us who care about our photography.

and what the hell is "wrong" with the models depicted in the little video trailer advert? Neither need nor deserve a digital edit.

Grr.

Does this mean that Bucks Fizz will need to start singing My Camera Never Lies (Unless it's a Hewlett Packard Digital Camera, With Slimming Effect)?

Way to go HP, lets see what effect this has on the increasing number of youngsters with eating disorders.

My brain won't encompass that much WTF today - it's already broken - but on the subject of the rage, can I please steal your icon? I need it. Heh.

Hell, I'd be happy to look as grossly obese as like the model they used pre-shrinkage. *Rolls eyes*

[identity profile] puddingcat.livejournal.com 2006-10-01 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Steal away :) IIRC, [livejournal.com profile] disc_sophist made the screencap, but it hasn't had any processing at all.

Yes. INCOHERENT RAGE.

Crazy insane bullshit!

Someone should sabotage the prototype so that it actually fattens folk, instead of slims them.

I mean, what the HELL is the purpose of such technology? To fool yourself into believing you're slimmer than you are? Or to fool other peope into thinking your slimmer than you are? What's the point?

Either way it'll end in tears.

Thoroughly, maddeningly depressing. Why would we need this? It's like giving a fridge to a penguin. Nothing good is ever going to come of this.
